VIDEO: Tips and Tricks for Stampin' Blends Markers Using Celebrate Sunflowers from Stampin' Up!

Happy Monday! For this week's video tutorial, I am featuring tips and tricks with Stampin' Blends, as requested by my customer Alicia. Stampin' Blends are a lot of fun to play around with, but can definitely be intimidating if you've never used them before. Today, I'm hoping to show you how easy they are to use so you feel confident in coloring your images!

Isn't this card so fun?! With the help of my Stampin' Blends, I was able to make the sunflowers look so realistic! Check out my video tutorial below, and then be sure to head back here to see the measurements and supplies for this card.

As mentioned in the video, here are my top 7 tips for using your Stampin' Blends:
  1. Be sure to use scratch paper beneath your project as the Blends will bleed through the paper.
  2. Use thicker cardstock, such as Thick Basic White or Thick Very Vanilla.
  3. Use an ink pad that will work with alcohol markers - like Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  4. Combine different colors together to give your image more character (for example, my sunflower uses Mango Melody AND Cinnamon Cider).
  5. Use your Blends to color other objects - embellishments (like the rhinestones pictured), ribbon, wood elements, etc.
  6. Don't use Blends (or other alcohol markers) directly onto your stamps. If you'd like to use markers on the stamps, use water-based instead (like the Stampin' Write Markers).
  7. Store your Blends as flat as possible to ensure the color doesn't pool to one end (my storage is from Stamp-n-Storage, the holder is linked here).
